Character Descriptions

FEMALE (6)

JANE - Perky, upbeat, outward confidence (inner vulnerability), has a lot invested in tonight. A lot. She organized the dance, has dreamed of it for 4 years, and everything is gonna be perfect even though she’s the poorest kid in school. Just like in a musical… (Soprano)

CHASS -  strong enough for two, because she has to be: due date: 3 weeks from tonight. (Alto)

AMANDA - is valedictorian, and completely not an idiot about her boyfriend Kyle’s cheating. She is an idiot, though, about that night she kissed Wanda…(Soprano)

WANDA - is trying to live her best lesbian life. If only she didn’t have so many feelings for Amanda. (Soprano)

MADISON - has fled her date Cory when she saw him make out with Jendrix, and now sits under the food table. But she is a sassy girl who isn’t afraid to be vulnerable… right? (Alto)

KATRINA - is dressed all in black, cause she’s over this prom. After her boyfriend’s sudden death, she’s over everything. (Soprano)

NON-BINARY (1)

JENDRIX - wasn’t always named that. They are David Bowie’s biggest fan. (Tenor with nice falsetto ability)

MALE (6)

JOHNNY -is definitely not pissed that his costume-shop tux looks cheap. And he is worried about Jane for very good reasons. (Baritone)

CORY - New kid at school. Uses Bowie as a way to not have to think about Mom’s Xanax addiction or his sister Katrina’s grief. He’s on a journey coming out…he’s just not sure as to what. (Tenor)

ZEKE - is the star quarterback, works for his C- average, proud future plumber who is sure he and mother of his baby Chass are destined to get married. (Baritone)

KYLE - is almost valedictorian, and completely not addicted to Tinder. (Tenor)

NOAH - is a bro’s bro who is gonna be an amazing nurse after college. He also has a not-so-secret crush on best friend Kyle’s girlfriend Amanda. (Baritone)

SETH - is the best dancer at school. Everyone knows it. He is not hiding from the dance floor cause he feels fat. (Baritone)
