Welcome to Downriver Dance Academy where dance is our passion. The academy is the dance education program of the 2nd Street Performing Arts Center. Our classes are designed to appeal to the recreational dancer or individuals looking to further their dancing career and aspirations. Downriver Dance Academy has provided the background and discipline that has taken many students to professional careers.
If you are new to dance, or a returning student, we welcome the opportunity to have you become a part of the Downriver Dance Academy family. We offer a quality dance experience in a wide variety of techniques. Our instructors bring years of experience and degrees in dance to ensure you are receiving a quality dance education at an affordable price.
We know that dance might look a little different this year, but that's why DDA is offering you a variety of options to return to dance on your terms. Whether it be virtually or in-person, DDA wants to make sure that our students keep dancing. We offer classes in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Lyrical, Modern, Musical Theater, Hawaiian, and Technique.

Downriver Dance Academy's Showcase 2023 recital is now on sale. This performance is one you do not want to miss, and will be enjoyed for years to come. Choreography by our talented instructors, Miss Spencer and Miss Cordelia, is stunning, exciting, and touching. The mission of Downriver Dance Academy is to develop each student’s unique talent and to explore dance as a creative outlet. Through expert instruction we allow students to tap into their individual artistry and inspire each dancer's creativity and imagination. We encourage personal growth and maximize each student's potential. We set goals individualized to each student's needs through a structured learning environment. Our priority is to provide a safe, judgment-free space and encourage self-expression where students can be inspired to grow, learn, and express their creativity.
